Frozen Treat


A sweet treat that is simple and delicious! Try this instead of ice cream. Peel bananas (I would recommend making up to 6 in a batch). Use craft (popsicle) sticks and insert in one end of the banana. I find these at the dollar store. Freeze bananas. Choose a good dark chocolate, chocolate chips or bars chopped are both great. Use at least 70% cocoa if possible. I generally melt in a non-stick pan at low temperatures, the double boiler is a hassle and microwaving can have a tendency to overcook. Keys to working with melted chocolate include the low temperatures, too high and it will get crusty, and keep water away...that will also ruin the chocolate. Dip the frozen, peeled banana into the melted chocolate until completely coated using the stick to avoid a mess. Place on a wax or parchment paper lined baking sheet and freeze until chocolate is hardened. Enjoy!
